If I could I wouldn’t of put any stars!

Original review Oct 01, 2019
My husband and I (I was pregnant at that time) were going in to see a Jeep they had and they didn’t have it but the guy showed us another one and we liked it and wanted to know more information about it. The guy told my husband the payment would be different if he had a co-sign from somebody with good credit. His dad has amazing credit and owns a lot of vehicles from dealerships way better than this one by the way. So I’m not sure if this dealership gets money off by scamming people but this was our 3rd dealership we have been because the other vehicles from other dealerships had check engine lights but we weren’t treated the way we were here. The manager from the accounting I forgot his name but will never forget his face or rude language. He wanted us to pay more and on top of that he was speaking loud saying he wanted my husband out before he does something of course I couldn’t do anything or say anything just started shaking of anger, I was 5 months pregnant, I would’ve reported him earlier but then again my husband wouldn’t have let me knowing I could’ve put my baby at risk. Thank goodness we found our family truck somewhere else and with the payment plan we told this DISRESPECTFUL UNEDUCATED employee. He should get his manners right and his math too.

Worst Dealership Ever

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Sherman Dodge Chrysler Ram has got to be the WORST dealership and service department I have ever encountered in 30+ years of buying cars and having my cars serviced. SAVE YOURSELF A HEAP OF PAIN AND AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COST! I purchased a new 2014 Ram pick-up truck from them in November 2014. The sales price negotiation process was fine, but the financing department was a disaster. After repeatedly stating we did NOT want to purchase an extended warranty, the paperwork ended up including an extended warranty for a substantial amount. The finance guy seemed to not know how to do his job, but now I think this was an act and a tactic to sell unwanted services. We ended up keeping the warranty as this was the first (and likely the last) Chrysler/Ram purchase and we had been there for hours dealing with their supposed incompetence. Upon delivery, they truck was dirty and they only provided us with 1 key to the vehicle and had to be contacted multiple times to obtain a second key. We also left the truck with them for over a week for some dealer installed upgrades and service. Upon arriving to pick-up the vehicle after calling and taking time off work to go there, we found that none of the work had been completed and the parts had not even been ordered. The service people blamed the parts department and the parts department blamed the service department. Unacceptable! At that point, I was done with this dealership and stated that I would never spend a dime there again. We began having the truck serviced at a dealership closer to our home. The check engine light kept coming on and the new dealership felt that the repair would not be included under the warranty. We had the repair made and afterwards contacted the extended warranty company and learned it was covered and filed a claim. However, they could not process the claim without Sherman Dodge "releasing" the contract to allow the other dealer to do the work. Sherman has REFUSED to release the contract after speaking with me and even the claim rep from the warranty company contacted them and they refused again to release the contract. The only recourse I have now is the try to cancel the remaining term of the contract to recover some of the substantial cost, possibly contact the Better Business Bureau, and file a complaint with Chrysler Corporate regarding this unethical dealer who is damaging the reputation of the Chrysler company. As I noted, the chances of my purchasing another Chrysler product has been damaged which is sad because I like some of their vehicles. You will see so many negative reviews here of this dealership with responses apologizing and requesting the person contact the dealership. They contacted me after my horrific buying experience but nothing changed, nothing done. This is simply a ploy to make them look better with nothing done to remedy the situation. Don't fall for it! Be sure to do your research before making any big decisions, and there are plenty of other dealerships you can go to. I've learned my lesson and hope this can help you avoid a similar mistake.

Buying car

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

At first they were nice but when it came to signing they tried to change the deal. I was walking then a manager said give me the car.

After that they couldn’t get the car when they promised they they lost spare key. After a month finally got it but then they say it had to be programmed with the car to bring it in. They knew the car was going to Colorado with my daughter for school. So they told me to take it to a dealer out there.

Our salesman Ricardo Villanueva told us it would be no charge. They told my daughter it would be about 70 dollars so I called Ricardo to tell him and if he could call them and tell them what he told me but he said it’s out of there hands and he can’t do anything. I asked again can he just call and explain situation and he hung up on me. By the way I was getting pissed off that he refused to help.

Called back couple of times he hung up both times I tried to ask to speak with a manager but he kept hanging up. If you still decide to go there run if you get Ricardo he’s a liar he’ll do anything to sell a car. Go to Marino at least they’ll help you and they’re honest. Should have listened to my friends.

Sherman dodge Jeep is terrible. If I could give -5 stars I would

Taken advantage of

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Went to purchase a car and was completely take advantage of. I was quoted a price I believe of $23,805 and then on the paperwork the top line was $30,000.00. When I inquired as to why I was advised that after my trade in and discounts the bottom line is what I was paying however that top line should have been the price I was quoted. When I got to dealership I had a flat tire and I was ready to take my old car back and was told by salesman where you going to go you have a flat tire. Since I have nothing in writing of what they originally quoted me I have no recourse to take legal action or else I would. Yesterday I went there to cancel my extended warranty and this other guy asked me what the problem was. I advised him I was totally taken advantage of and he said he explained everything to me and I seemed fine and then told me whatever and walked away from me. Well I wasn't I was just so mad that I didn't want to spout off at the mouth and end up in jail. Also a friend of mine purchased car from there 2 months before me and she has had nothing but problems also. Had I know of her problems I would not have even gone to that dealership. I had to take my car back 3 time s to get fixed due to pulling to the right issue which the dealership knew this type of car had that defect and they avoided me of test driving it. I would never recommend this dealership and except for utilizing my warranty will never go back to them again. Like all dealerships they are only out to line their pockets with money and could give a crap about making the consumer happy. I think it is a hot shame that they are able to take advantage of women that way and get away with it. I called 3 days later to return car and was told I couldn't. I signed for it and drove it off the lot. I was under the impression you have 30 days from purchase to return vehicle. Either I was wrong or they misinformed me.

Sherman Dodge - Auto Loan Review

Went shopping, August 27, 2016, for a car with and for my daughter. We initially began shopping at Kingdom Chevrolet. Once they found that they could not help us, we were referred over to Sherman Dodge of Skokie, Illinois, to talk to a salesman by the name of Martize. On September 3,2016, we paid Sherman Dodge a visit. Once there, we asked for the salesman that we were referred to. We sat for about 20 minutes, before he walked up to greet us. He told us that he would be with us shortly. We waited for another 30 minutes or so, before he lead us over to his desk. Once seated, we waited for another half or more, before he began to discuss what we needed. More tome had passed before he collected my daughters info, to see if they could get her financed. We sat fir another 30-40 minutes or more, before he returned to us, for more info. After a couple of hours or more, we still hadn't received any news of whether financing went through. After another 30 minutes or so, we were told that financing failed. That she needed a cosigner. He asked if I could do so. I replied by stating that I am currently in an opened bankruptcy. That I wouldn't be able to. He proceeded to say that they have approved financing for people in opened bankruptcies all the time. We had already been there for about a couple hours. I thought hard about cosigning. Didn't want to do it. But, considering my daughters need for a car, I decided to do so. After sitting for another three hours or more, we were told that everything was good. That he was waiting on paperwork from the manager. We sat even longer. By the time I put a downpayment of $1750, signed paperwork (showing a breakdown of the price of the car, taxes, downpayment, monthly payments etc., etc.), got the insurance situated, we finally received the keys to a 2015, Chrysler 200. Then, I was told that I just needed the Trustee over my bankruptcy to approve of me financing a car. But, salesman failed to give me a copy of the sales contract. By the time we completed everything,we had been there for a total of eight hours! However, I contacted the lawyers office to see what I needed to do about me being able to finance a car. I was told to bring a copy of the sales contract and to fill out a budget form. Didn't have a copy of the sales contract, because the salesman did not give me one. So, I had the dealership to email a copy. In which, I still have. After a few weeks, I found out that the Trustee would not approve, I immedialtely called the salesman and told him the news. He continued to try and get me to go back into the lawyers office to see what can be done. That he didn't understand why they wouldn't approve of it. That they get people with bankruptcies approved all the time. Once having the car for a total of four weeks, I received a call October 3, 2016, from Manager Joe Las, to return the car. He states that because financing did not go through, that the car had to be returned, unless a cosigner was found. But, if the car was not returned, that he would file a police report. He decided to give us a day to get the car back. I ended up talking to the Salesman Martize later on that afternoon and informed him of my call with his Manager. He said that he didnt know why he (the Manager) had stated what he said. That he would talk to him and calm him down. That he (Martize) was trying to do what he could to get the financing approved. In the meantime, my daughter continued trying to find a cosigner. Because if the threat of a police report. And that I was the one who signed for the car, my daughter decided to take the car back to them, on October 15, 2016. She took her brothers with her, who drove my car, to ensure she would get back to the city. While there, they tried to see if they could cosign. Financing was not approved through them either. The keys to the car taken. The salesman who sold the car was there, but never really discussed anything with her. They sent someone else to her. After talking with that salesman, he told her that he would hold the car in case she had a cosigner by that Monday, October 17th. Though the salesman who initially sold the car was there, he never talked to her. The salesman she talked to, told her that if she didn't find a cosigner, that she needed to come back and get the downpayment. She did not get a cosigner. Since I was the one who put the downpayment down on the car, with a payment through my checking account, I felt that I needed to get my money. Before I talked to anyone regardung the return of my downpayment, my daughter had discussed it with Martize. He tells her that the money wasn not refundable. Once I contacted him, telling what she had told me, he tried to deny ever stating that to her. Told me that I needed to talk to his Manager Joe. Once I call him and discuss the issue, he tells me that I may ir may not be able to receive the money back. When asked why, he states that it depends on whether or not I did what they ask me to. I asked, Like what? He said whether ir not I had gotten all of the info in to them like my check stubs, etc.. I told him that everything was brought in when we were there. Then he said that he needed to speak to Martize, because he did nit know of our situation. That he would call back. A week went by and I didnt hear from him. So, I contacted him. No answer. I left a message. On Ictober 29, 2016, around 5 or 6 that evening, I noticed that I had a voicemail from Joe. It said that I needed to come to the dealership that Monday, October 31st, to sit with him and Martize to discuss *** they were going to give me my downpayment back. I had been sick the week befire and the first part if that week. So, I was unable to go up there on that Monday. That Friday, November 4th, my Sister and I went up there. Martize noticed us, greeted us. He said that he would let Joe know that I was there. We sat for about a half an hour or so. Then abiut 20 minutes or so later, we were greeted by a guy by the name if Lavelle. Said that he was one of the Managers and asked, "What can he help us with. I told him why I was there and who I came to see. He took us to his desk to sit us down and started telling me that he was one of the Manager's. That ge ciuld help us. That Joe was not available at the time. I explained everything to him and that I was there to get my downpayment back. He goes on with all kinds of stories about how long we had the car. Why do I think that I should get my money back. That if it was a rental, how much do I think that I would have had to pay, to have a car for that long. He basically, kept trying to feed me bull ***! He goes in telling me here's what I can do. I can at least get half your money back. That the dealership is trying to keep $1,000 and only give me $750. I wasnt trying to hear it! I wanted all of my money. So, I began asking fir Joe. That he was who I came to taIk to. He kept feeding me a bunch if bull! Saying he's the middle man. They sent him to talk to me. I sat and sat, cinstantly asking for Joe. Still, he never tried to get him. Cintinued feeding me bull. I was there for at least two hours then. He kept telling me that they wete not trying to give half my money back. That they were only trying to give $750 of the $1750 I paid. Because U was so fed up and frustrasted, I accepted the $875. I just got it back into my account a few days ago. Anyhow, Im still trying to work in getting the other half of my money back. I've contacted the Atyorney General's office. Was told the procedure of filing a complaint. Im going to also contact the Comsumer Law Group to talk to a Lawyer and also the BBB. I've also decide to contact the I-Team to see if I can get them to investigate them. I read a story that was exactly like mine. The only difference us that tjis guy had his car much longer than I did. But, they were refusing to give the guy his money back, after being told that financing didn't go through. He eventually contacted the local authorities and went ther with them. It was then, they refunded his downpayment. In the meantime, I've tried contacting the General Manager, left a message for a return call. Haven't heard from anyone. I've thiught about calling the Manager back to see if hed be willing to return the rest if my money. If not, tell him that I've contacted the local authorities, expkaine the situation to them and that tgey told me if I did nit get the results that I was looking for, to call them back. So, Im still trying. Just want all if you consumers to be aware of the people at Sherman Dodge! They are a bunch of scammers!

Spot Deliver and Fraud

I went into Sherman Dodge to inquired about a 2016 Dodge Caravan. I already had financing through my bank (Chase) so I was less concerned about financing and more concerned about price.

After a few hours of negociating and attempting to walk about because the numbers weren't working out we finally agreed on a price (put some $ down and no trade in) after they said they could beat my rate I had with Chase. I have them all of my info, they ran the credit check and had everything they needed from me. The told me I was "approved" and that I could put part of the down payment down that night and give them the remainder by the end of the week. When filling out the paper work for financing I was asked to give 3 references.

When I asked why this was needed if they already had my credit rating and report the sales man said I could just enter some fake names/numbers (warning sign #1). I should have listened to my instincts which told me to get the *** out of there. Then after going back and forth about the powertrain warranty the finance manager finally relented and said he'd get it "certified" for 5yrs/100,000 miles and built that into the contract without increasing my payments. When I asked, "is it common for you to just do that?" he said "yeah, we do it all the time." (warning sign #2).

After filling out the paper work, it was decided that I'd come the following morning to pick up the vehicle and it would be ready to go. I arrived and they did a *** job of cleaning/vaccuming my "new" minivan and the odometer said 231 miles, the paper work and contract said it had 25mi (warning sign #3). I was not happy and was going to address it after work. I got a call from the finance manager that day stating that the bank needed more info from me to verify my income, etc and approve the loan.

I was told I was already approved (final warning sign). I then read over the sales contract and saw that the contract wasn't valid unless a "finance source approves this order and agrees to purchase a retail installment contract." The next day they were expecting me to come in and give the remainder of the down payment. I went in, found the finance manager (Jeff), asked if my loan was finalized and approved. He said "well it depends on what you've brought me" referring to the remaining down payment and more documents.

I told him I was leaving the vehicle, this was "spot delivery" and that he told me I was approved when I was not. I also told him he was using deceptive practices and sold me a minivan with 231 miles on it when the paperwork said 25 miles. He told me told me that was not true and I told him to read his contract, it was only valid if there was financing which there wasn't. He threatened me and said I would destroy my credit (how?).

Then he said it wasn't as easy as that and there was a $2,500 return fee (or something that sounded like that). I told him no there isn't and to read the IL Attorney General website on deceptive new car sale practices. I got up and walked out of his office. Not sure what to expect next but I have no problem contacting an attorney if they try anything.

Sounds like they have been pulling these types of fraudulent and shady moves for years. My next write up will be to the IL Attorney General.

Appreciation

I actually had a wonderful experience with Sherman Dodge. They helped me get a vehicle when no other dealership would. When several other dealerships persuaded me into coming in for a drive, and wasting a substantial amount of time Sherman Dodge turned out to be the hero. I purchase is a beautiful Dodge Journey with three rows of seats. It is perfect for me and my family and our stuff. Its got several amenities that I wasn't expecting, including a sunroof, beautiful chrome wheels, enough room for 7 folks if necessary and a beautiful black finish. I signed and drove the same day. As a new manager, busy mom and wife, that was extremely important to me. For this I am very grateful!

Spot Deliver Scam. Do not sign (Spot Delivery Rider) They will lie about giving you a copy and explaining it

9/25/2013: I inquired on the Sherman Dodge website for a 2013 Dodge Charger SE.   9/26/2013: I received a voicemail from George stating the car is still available, and that the MSPR for the car is at $28,080.

He also stated that the dealership discounts the car to $22,080 and that he can save me an additional $250.   9/26/2013: I called George back and made an appointment that same day. The appointment was scheduled between 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. to test-drive the vehicle and to meet with someone.

9/26/2013: I arrived at Sherman Dodge and was greeted by salesman named Norvell Ward. I informed him that I had spoken to George inquiring about a Dodge Charger, and I had an appointment scheduled with someone, but I had forgot his name. Norvell Ward. found George for me and George told me the guy who I was originally suppose to meet wasn't available, he assured me that Norvell Ward could help me.

I informed Norvell Ward. what car I was interested in, we walked to it, and he showed me the sticker in the window showing me the MSRP was $25,995 and that the Dealership total charge was $28,080. I told him the price George quoted me was $22,080. Norvell Ward.

said the price George gave me was after the incentives and rebates. He pulled the vehicle around for me to test drive. After the test drive, we went inside to see if I could get the car. However, before we went inside, he told me if anybody asked...

he seen me walking around the lot and offered help.   I then proceeded to complete a finance contract. At that time, Norvell Ward. gathered some additional information from me.

I advised Norvell Ward. that I was trying to keep the monthly payment around $400. He did advise that it wasnt likely, but he would see what he could do. We couldnt come to an agreement, so I left the dealership.

Shortly thereafter, Norvell Ward. called me back from his personal cellular phone trying to re-negotiate the monthly payment. He was persistent in his efforts and insisted that I come back to the dealership immediately. At that moment, He assured me that he could have my car payment at $400 a month.

I told Norvell Ward. that I couldn't come back right now because I had to go home and get ready for work. I informed him that I could come in the next day after work. Norvell Ward asked if I could come in the morning instead and I told him that I had to be at work at 9:30 a.m.

He then asked if I could come there at 8:30 a.m. and that all the paperwork would be done. Norvall Ward. assured me that it wouldn't take long, so I said ok.

He also called me a couple times that same evening to confirm my 8:30 a.m. appointment Friday, he also stated that he doesnt want to do all of the paperwork if Im not going to come in the morning.   9/27/2013: I arrived at Sherman Dodge a little before 8:30 a.m. greeted by Norvell Ward.

He told me the Sales Manager doesn't get in until 9:00 a.m. The Sales Manager came a little before 9:30 a.m., if not at 9:30 a.m. Norvell Ward. stated that the sales manager didn't complete the paperwork the night before but it wouldn't take long.

So I waited another half an hour or so while they completed the necessary paperwork. Norvell Ward. came with another loan application that wasn't filled completely out. He stated that he couldn't find the previous one from the day before, and needed another one for his file.

He also assured me that they would not run my credit again. Shortly after, Norvell Ward. came to get me and he brought me to the counter to the Sales Manager. The Sales Manager proceeded to ask me how much money I made monthly, hourly, and than how many hours I work a week.

After that, Norvell Ward. took me to the cashier to pay whatever money I was going put down and made sure I got a receipt. I sat back down, and maybe 30 to 45 minutes later Julie Stracke approached me. Julie Stracke also inquired about how much money I made monthly, hourly, and how many hours I worked, she also told me the company that was going to finance me wanted proof of income.

Maybe 20 or 30 minutes later Julie Stracke walked me to her office to go over the contracts which most of them she didn't go into full detail about. The only thing Julie Stracke did go in detail about was the GAP Insurance and the Theft Shield Warranty. She also told me that the Finance company that was going to originally finance me wasn't and another company was going to finance me at a Lower APR of 5.45 but at 75 months. Julie Stracke informed me on the amount that was being financed and I signed all the paper work and got copies.

I then proceeded to take my personal belongings out of my old vehicle and place it into the new vehicle. At this time, the salesman was switching my plates from the old vehicle to the new vehicle.   9/30/2013: I called Norvell Ward. with questions about the price of the vehicle I purchased and he told me to come back to the dealership.

I came the dealership around 3:30 p.m. and called Norvell Ward. he sent me to talk to Julie Stracke and she told me she doesn't handle the sales price of the car and called Norvell Ward. to her office.

Norvell Ward. took me to the sales manager Reggie Steel who told me that they added $4000 to my trade in to pay it off, than added $4000 to the new car, which I was never informed about until after I bought the new car. I figured it was too late for me to do anything about it, so I just said forget it since I signed all the contracts.   10/03/2013: Received an email from Wassana Dickens from email address: wassana@***.com.

Stating they have received word that my loan will be with Bank Of The West, and that I should be receiving documents from the bank at least 10-12 days prior to the due date, along with the banks contact information Bank Of The West 2527 Camino Ramon, San Roman, CA 94583, not including a telephone number. The name on the bottom of the email was Marianne Dickens with Sherman Dodge Chrysler Jeep 7601 Skokie Blvd with the store number 847 982 **** with her extension 199.   10/11/2013: I got a voicemail and a text message from Julie from Sherman Dodge asking me to call her when I get her message. I called her back on my lunch break and she told me that there was a problem with the finance contract and that the bank wouldn't except it because Sherman Dodge company name wasn't on it correctly and that I need to come in as soon as possible to sign another finance contract.

I told her I would come in on Saturday, but than I got suspicious, so I didn't go in and did some research checking the validity of her finance/contract practices.   10/15/2013: I received another voicemail from Julie Stracke at Sherman Dodge.   10/16/2013: I received a text message from Julie Stracke from Sherman Dodge, stating that she left me a message the day before and that I was suppose to come in Saturday, and that she needs me to come in to sign a contract and to please contact her a.s.a.p. I was very unsure about coming in and signing anything else after finding out that the sales guy lied to me and ran my credit again 9/27/2013 5 more times after telling me he wasn't and that he needed another application for his file.

10/17/2013: I called Sherman Dodge to speak to Marianne Dickens and left a message because I received an email from her dated 10/03/2013 saying that my loan will be thru Bank Of The West. 10/17/2013: I received a call from Marianne Dickens, telling me that the bank financing my new car would not except the contract because Sherman Dodge's name wasn't correct on the contract and that it is important for me to sign another contract.   10/18/2013: I called Wells Fargo Dealers Services to see if my car was paid off yet, and they said they dont have record or no communication about my car being traded in. They also informed me that my car payment was 11 days late as of that day.

I also called Bank Of The West to see the status of my loan and they didnt have any record of my loan by checking my name and social security number.   10/19/2013: I came to Sherman Dodge around 5:00 p.m. with my sister, Tamara McGee. I saw Norvell Ward.

the Salesman who originally sold me the car. I advised him that I was there to see Julie Stracke, the Finance Manager, because I was informed that there was a problem with my financing. Norvell Ward said he would go tell Julie Stracke that I was there to see her, he came back shortly saying she was with a customer and she will be with me shortly. I waited for 30 minutes and Julie Stracke came and told me to come to her office.

My Sister and I sat in her office, to find out, Julie Stracke didnt know where my paperwork was. Julie Stracke finally found my paperwork and showed me the old contract showing me what needed to be changed which was how Sherman Dodge Inc. was on the contract. I asked her where is the new contract and she couldnt produce it.

I also told her that I called Wells Fargo Dealers Services to see if my old car was paid off and that they havent even been contacted about the trade in. I also advised her that my payment was 11 days late, as of 10/18/2013. I also told her that I called Bank Of The West and they never heard of me or had any knowledge of financing me. At that moment, Julie Stracke got frustrated and walked out to go get some additional paperwork.

She then returned with a paper wrote in scribble telling me that it was the payoff on my car, which I couldnt find a date on it. She then showed me a Spot Deliver paper that I do not remember signing, nor was it ever explained to me, and I never received a copy of. After all this, I told her I dont want the car anymore because theyre very dishonest. She was very rude and disrespectful to my sister and I, than she called the Finance Consultant Juan Betancourt into her office asking him can he help us and she stormed out the office.

Juan Betancourt was a nice guy and listened to what I had to say, but he was saying the same thing she was saying about my finance contract needing to be redone and signed again, but still did not have a contract present. My sister and I asked him if the contract I signed was void and he said yes with the Bank Of The West. However, he advised us that could do it thru another bank. He then explained to me that there are several banks he can use, but the Bank Of The West asked him for business and he said he had promised them some business so he wanted to do the financing through them.

I told him I dont want the car anymore and that I want my old car back and he said thats not an option. I told him who would do business with a place that constantly lies to you and mistreats you like the finance manager, Julie Stracke. Juan Betancourt told me he can push my payment day back 90 days, which I knew would raise my monthly payment and I said no, I just dont want the car. He stated that it wasnt an option.

So I told him what do I have to do to get my car back? Should I get a lawyer? Juan Betancourt said he could lower the monthly payments and we could work it out. After being at the dealership over an hour and a half, I just stood up and said Im going to leave and just get a lawyer and let them deal with it, and then I left.

10/21/2013: Ive got a couple emails saying there has been a change to my credit report so I checked and found three new inquiries, one from Sherman Dodge dated 10/20/2013, one from WFDS/WDS dated 10/20/2013, and one from PNC Bank dated 10/21/2013.   10/22/2013: I called Wells Fargo Dealer Services to see if they have received a payoff on my car I traded in, and they had not received anything and as of date, my car payment is 15 days late.

Sherman Dodge ripoff

Since my husband bought his Grand Caravan last year, he's been having trouble with one tire that keeps loosing pressure and causes the warning light to turn on. He's had it looked at over and over again in the last year and Sherman service said they can't find anything wrong. Well, today he went out the tire is completely flat. We bought the extra service warranty, so he called them. They told us that it was still under warranty, so he should call Sherman. Sherman said it's not under warranty anymore so call the the service warranty provider. So instead, on a day that's 100 degrees in Chicago, my husband is out in the heat trying to change the tire himself. DON'T BUY A CAR FROM SHERMAN DODGE. DON'T BUY A SERVICE PLAN BECAUSE IT DOESN'T SEEM TO EVER KICK IN. They sweet talk you into buying the car and the service plan, and then they don't stand behind their product. I am VERY disappointed. I will not be buying a car from this rip off place.

Not Sure About Sherman Dodge

I went to purchase a vehicle at Sherman Dodge in Skokie, IL and got more than I baragained for. After researching the vehicle I wanted on their website and making 2 phone calls to the dealership, I never met the salesman I spoke with on the phone. I was given a saleman that was more interested in selling me a van close to the showroom instead of the vehicle I researched from their website. Finally after making him show me the right van the price war started. The vehicle was to be "certified" after paying a fee; a fee most dealerships will charge expect I was given 4 different prices from 4 different people. Once that was cleared up I waited 2 hours to see someone in the finance department. During my wait the salesman made an appointment for me to bring the vehicle in at a later date to have a paint shield and interior protector applied, something done to all certified vehicles from their dealership. 2 days later the salesman called back and said that this service was not included in my purchase of this so-called "certified" vehicle. After leaving I realized that I was never shown a checklist of the vehicle's "certification" inspection. I have no idea what I paid a "certification" fee for because the interior was even vaccumed out. So, if you want to feel and be treated like an idoit, head over to Sherman Dodge and let them try and take advantage of you!
